The combination of intense back pain and my efforts to continue work on our living room remodel have kept me from writing today. I did, however, take a few photographs in the evening. Here are a few of the best of them.

I loved these tiny little leaves springing right out of this massive limb. 
It was wet outside in the morning, so this lichen looked great on this tree trunk. 
The Magnolia continues to leaf out, and you can still see the pineapple-like core from the flower and all of the little stamens crumpled around the base of the flower. A lot of botany going on. 
I don’t know what this plant is, but the leaves coming from this single bud are amazing. 
This little row of buds leafing out were cool for their uniformity and perfect spacing. 


This tree’s reproductive parts are the stringy things below the leaves. I missed what these looked like when flowering. 
These flowers are absolutely lovely in the evening light. I love the detail too. You can see the tiny stamens and the little bits of pollen on the end of each.
